About Me
I opened my private practise in 2017, and have been a full-time school counsellor with the Halifax Regional Centre for Education since 2008. I provide independent counselling as well as supporting clients through Victim's Services, Department of Community Services and through various EAP programs.
I believe in taking people where they are, and helping them identify & build upon strengths and skills that will help them move forward. "Progress, not perfection" is a guiding principle.
Prior to becoming a counsellor, I worked as a high-school teacher for 12 years. My Bachelor of Recreation degree allowed me to work for several years in the field of outdoor recreation and leadership development. I bring many of the experiential and strengths-based approaches that are part of this world into my work as a counsellor.
My two dogs, Wally and Juneau, enjoy keeping those clients who love dogs company during sessions.
